What are system boilers?

System boilers take water form the mains water supply and heat it up to feed central heating radiators and also fill a hot water storage cylinder. They are clever modern boilers with many inbuilt components that are designed for home with higher hot water and heating requirements. Due to the seperate hot water cylinder they can service multiple showers simultaneously without losing water pressure.

What are conventional boilers?

Conventional or regular boilers are gravity fed heating systems which require a boiler, a cold water tank and a hot water storage tank. Cold water flows from the tank (usually in the loft) into the boiler where it is heated to flow both into the radiators and the hot water storage tank.

What are condensing boilers?

Greenstar 2000 Prices

Greenstar 2000 boilers cost from £750 to £950 for the boiler only and the average cost with full installation is between £2,250 and £3,000. The installation cost is for a combi boiler replacement job in the same location, if the job is more complicated then the cost will increase accordingly.

Greenstar 4000 Prices

A Greenstar 4000 boiler costs between £1,100 and £1,400 (supply only) and from £2,600 to £3,500 fully installed, based on a like for like boiler type swap in the same location. More complicated jobs will increase the fully installed cost.

The Greenstar 4000 is the direct and modern replacement for the best selling Greenstar 30i, which Worcester stopped selling in 2021. And of course the Greenstar 4000 been designed to be better in many ways than its predecessor, but it will need to be better if it wants to exceed the 1m UK homes that had a Greenstar 30i installed.

  • The boiler type of the 8000+ impacts the cost - this range of boilers is available as a combi, a system and a conventional.


  • As with most Worcester boilers the 8000+ is available to be converted to run on LPG and the converison kit costs around an additioanl £100.

The Greenstar 8000+ was launched in September 2024 as an evolution of the 8000 as it was 5 years old. The 8000+ is the flagship range from Worcester in terms of boiler design, technology and efficiency.

Greenstar 8000+ Style Prices

The Greenstar 8000+ Style  boiler costs from £1,650 to £1,750 for the boiler and with full installation costs from £3,150 to £4,500. Prices based on like for like boiler type installed in the same location as the old boiler. Any other modifications and extras will increase the price accordingly.


  • The only difference in the cost of the two 8000+ style boilers is power output, with the more powerful unit costing £100 more.

The 8000+ Style has a sleek high gloss finish and is positioned as part of Worcester's premium boiler range for the style concious who favour funciton combined with design.


  • September 2024 upgrade to the previous 8000 Style from 2019.

Greenstar CDi Compact Prices

The Worcester Greenstar CDi Compact costs from £1,175 to £1,600 for the boiler and then with installation costs from £2,675 to £4,500. The cost will increase as the complexity of the job increases - the quoted prices are for same location installs swapping a combi boiler for another combi.

Greenstar CDi Highflow Prices

A greenstar CDi Highflow costs between £2,500 and £3,100 for the boiler itself and from £4,000 to £5,500 fully installed. Prices based on replacing a floorstanding combi boiler in the same location.


  • The output of the CDi Highfloor is the biggest driver of the price with the higher output 550 costing £600 more than the 440.
